European Trauma Course

The European Trauma Course (ETC) teaches an innovative multidisciplinary team-approach to the initial in-hospital care of severely injured patients.
The course concept was developed by the European Trauma Working Group during the recent years. Members of this group are EATES (European Association of Trauma and Emergency Surgery), ETS (European Trauma Society), EuSEM (European Society of Emergency Medicine), ESA (European Society of Anaesthesiology), ESICM (European Society of Intensive Care Medicine), ERC (European Resuscitation Council) and finally ITACCS.
As the only none-European organization of the Trauma Working Group ITACCS will proudly provide this international course prior to TraumaCare2009 at Ulm, GERMANY from 28th to 30th of September 2009. The course language will be English.

The novel modular course concept is scenario based and provides state of the art team training in workshops and skill-stations reflecting the prevailing European practice. Candidates participate both as team leaders and team members. The course runs over 2½ days and is, apart from two lectures and one demonstration entirely ‘hands on’. During the first 2 days all major topics of trauma resuscitation are covered. On the third day there will be final practice workshops and assessments. Participants are expected to be familiar with Basic and Advanced Life Support and to have read the enclosed pre-course CD.
