Oktoberfest “Backstage” (pre-congress-tour)

This unusual and unique tour will already begin on Thursday, October 1st.
You will be able to look behind the scene of one of the biggest and world-renowned festivities, the famous “Münchner Oktoberfest” and find yourself awed by the amount of logistical and tactical expertise involved. Special emphasis will be laid on the medical facilities and logistics during the fun-fare.
After the 90 minutes bus-transfer, the Munich Fire Brigade will welcome you in one of their facilities and give you a briefing on their tasks during the Oktoberfest, especially concerning medical and security aspects.
In small groups you will visit the administrative area of the Oktoberfest –hidden to the ordinary visitor-, including  the medical centre. There will be ample time for discussion amongst colleagues and staff as well as time for touring the fairground on your own.
For the conclusion of the day, a lounge in one of famous beer-halls (Bierzelt) on the Oktoberfest is reserved for the group. Don´t miss the chance to try the famous Bavarian food and –of course- the variety of beer and wine (Diner and first drink included).
Please note: the tour will be guided in English and German. It is advisable to carry along rain-proof attire.
You must carry cash for your expenditures, credit-cards are not accepted on the Oktoberfest.
Bus transfer in a modern bus from and back to Ulm is included in the price, as well as the admission to the Oktoberfest, lectures, guided tour, entrance to the administration-area and medical centre, reserved seat in the lounge-section of the “Kufer Weinzelt” including food and one beverage.
